Tiana’s dam, Aurora, has always had a refined elegance about her. However, when Tiana was born she was more ugly duckling, than elegant swan. As such, although we had elected to retain Tiana to evaluate her further, she was kept out of the show ring for the beginning of the season. Over time, though, she began to lengthen out and appear more balanced overall, but it wasn’t until she was clipped for the first time, for an early summer show, that the doeling we had expected to see all along from this cross, finally revealed herself.
As a dry yearling, at her first show, she easily secured her restricted champion leg at her first show.
Our first retained Highland Thistle daughter, we’re curious to see how this doe continues to mature. Thistle himself was somewhat awkward in appearance as a youngster, but has matured into a very handsome, and correct, herdsire.
