Curbstone Valley DS Zinnia

Zinnia’s dam, Scarlet, is a doe that we chose to retain because she was a significant improvement in type, and dairy strength, over her dam.  Her udder attachments were a vast improvement as well.

Scarlet was in turn bred to Destiny’s Starman, whose pedigree exudes strength in the mammary system. He consistently produces lovely udders in his daughters, so we retained Zinnia. We are in turn looking for a little further improvement in strength of the medial attachment in Zinnia compared to her dam. Dam, and sire’s dam, udder photos below.

Zinnia’s first freshening was delayed as a result of the wildland fire that burned through the farm in the fall of 2020. She produced two beautiful daughters in 2022, sired by Sinai Thunder EX Hanukkah, who brought more length and balance overall. We repeated that breeding for 2023 in the hopes of retaining daughter.
