After two years of outside reservations falling through due to sheer bad luck, when we were presented with the opportunity to purchase Alethia DJ Written N The Stars (Destiny) in the fall of 2016, we wouldn’t resist. We purchased her bred, and she was confirmed pregnant with twins at the time. We crossed our hooves throughout her pregnancy for buck and doe twins, and that’s exactly what she gifted us. Both beautiful kids were retained to the herd. So after two years of struggling to bring in the genetics we were hoping for, we felt the stars had indeed aligned, hence Allie’s name.
Allie’s maternal grandsire, GCH Algedi Farm Drops of Jupiter, needs little introduction, and was the 2015 ADGA National Show Premiere Sire. Her paternal grandsire, Twin Creeks BW Montego Bay is equivalently well known, both of whom have sired numerous champion and superior genetics offspring.
Both Allie, and her brother Ziggy (CH Alethia HB Destiny’s Starman), are long and level, smoothly blended, and incredibly consistent looking kids. Allie, as a yearling, was almost the spitting image of her dam, and she easily secured her restricted champion leg.
As a two year-old first freshener, Allie could almost do no wrong. Her udder is incredibly wide, capacious, and extremely well supported, scoring 47 for rear udder arch and 40 for rear udder height at a mere 7 weeks fresh.
In the show ring, in highly competitive 2 year-old classes, Allie consistently floated to the head of the her class. While she placed reserve Grand Champion at REDGA, she placed behind a doe that was already a finished champion, and as the class was large enough, to our surprise Allie earned her first unrestricted champion leg as a result. She then went on to finish her permanent Championship at the Gold Country Dairy Goat Association show the following weekend. A remarkable feat for a first freshener in our extremely competitive Northern California shows. Meanwhile, her brother, Ziggy, also finished his championship the same season over the course of two 2-ring shows, in two weekends.
As if that wasn’t enough, despite a hectic early season show schedule, she didn’t slack on milk test either, and produced over a thousand pounds of milk that same year as a first freshener.
Allie’s daughter, Curbstone Valley DI Bellatrix, sired by Lotus’ son, Desert Indigo, is retained to the herd.
