Katy is from one of our favorite lines. Her grand-dam, Rowena, was incredibly productive as a first freshener, and her line has consistently been one of the most dairy in the herd.

Her dam, Nimue, earned her dry leg as a yearling, easily floating to the top of her huge competitive class in large part due to her dairy strength.

Nimue produced twin does in 2019, and except for color, they are almost identical in appearance. They even have the same white splash pattern on their right side. Choosing between them was a challenge, but Katy had the slight edge on body capacity.

Katy consistently placed in the top three in her classes at show her first season, as an intermediate kid. Meanwhile, Katrine’s sire, Destiny’s Starman, quickly scooped up three senior grand-champion wins, and earned his permanent championship as a two year-old.

Katy matured into a long wide and level doe, freshening with two does in 2022, but just a single buck in 2023. Her teat length, length and foreudder extension (40), and width in the rump (36), are all improvements over her dam. Due to her single kid this year, we are hoping to milk off some excess conditioning next season, as it clearly impacted her dairyness score during appraisal in 2023.
