Despite insisting that we would not be retaining another Lotus daughter when Mojave Rose was born, we just couldn’t convince ourselves to part with her.
Rosie’s dam, Castle Rock Lotus, is renowned in the herd for her long steady lactations, with high production, and strong components.
Mojave Rose naturally stands very square in the rear, with excellent width between her angular hocks, with a high and wide escutcheon. She has a little more length and levelness compared to her dam, with an improved shoulder assembly, but retains much of her dam’s body, and udder capacity.
At her very first show, at just 9 weeks old, Rosie succeeded in earning her Junior Grand Champion leg.
Rosie was the first daughter sired by GCH Castle Rock Abraham Darby +*B +*S, and so far she appears to have acquired the very best traits of both her sire, and dam.
An udder injury sustained in 2017 unfortunately prevents Rosie from competing in the show ring, but she will remain on DHI milk test and Linear Appraisal.
