The first day of Winter is less than a week away, the days are short, and the sun spends much of the day lurking behind trees and ridge tops. However, here at Curbstone Valley there is still a hint of autumn that remains. With each storm that passes, the leaves slowly fall, and bid their final farewell…
Come said the wind to
the leaves one day,
Come o’er the meadows
and we will play.
Put on your dresses
scarlet and gold,
For summer is gone
and the days grow cold.

You captured those fruit tree leaves so beautifully. I’m usually just annoyed that they are falling everywhere, but this gives me a new appreciation!
Enjoyed these photos. We have about the same small amount of color left. Your photos are very creative and I look forward to seeing more.
What a sweet song, it does go perfectly with your pictures. Our leaves have been gone from the trees quite awhile now, so it’s nice to see the autumn colors on yours.
I loved your photos. Fall is just a dim memory here in Maine where it is very definitely winter. It was nice to be reminded of the loveliness of fall.
I love the variety of colors and shapes of the leaves. Like you, our leaves turn color later in the season. Many trees are a riot of color right now, but the leaves are starting to fall….
I am fascinated by the variety of shapes and colors of leaves. We still have a few, very few, still showing their fall colors. Most have fallen. Raking is a constant chore. (chore? No, pleasure!)
Beautiful, Beautiful Song!! Lovely to see all your colorful leaves. Happy Winter Solstice! Carol
