Not being one to create a rift in a lifelong friendship, it was impossible to bring Castle Rock Breakin My Heart to the farm, without also ensuring she could remain with her best friend, Castle Rock River of Rain.
River is a beautiful doe, and was the fifth Cleveland Sage daughter to arrive at the farm that year, as Cleveland’s daughters were reknowned for their udders.
At just under four months of age, River was awarded Best Junior Doe in Show, and went on to finish her championship, and earn a best udder in show award, as a second freshening two year-old. That same year, River also earned her Superior Genetics (SG) designation.
As a three year-old River secured a VEEE 90 score on Linear Appraisal, scoring a coveted ‘E’ in shoulder assembly, that blends smoothly across a near ideally level back.
River of Rain had quints in 2018, three of whom where does. It was difficult to part with any of her lovely daughters, as they were all so similar in type. Curbstone Valley River Blythe was retained to the herd, and will freshen in spring of 2020.
