Iris is the daughter of Lotus and Darby. This was repeat of the breeding that previously gave us Mojave Rose and Desert Indigo. This particular combination works well, and who are we to argue?

Lotus is an ADGA and AGS breed leader for milk, butterfat, and protein, and hands down the hardest working, most consistent doe on the farm. While she may not be blazing trails in the show ring, she knocks it out of the park in the milk parlor. Lotus is a capacious doe, with long, level lactations. She is a structurally correct doe, with a permanent linear appraisal score of VEEE 91.

Iris' sire, Abraham Darby, is an ADGA finished permanent champion, that consistently throws long, angular kids. A number of his daughters have easily earned their restricted junior legs at less than 12 weeks of age. Iris' herself came close at 10 weeks old, but instead elected to have a meltdown in the show ring that day, and the Champion leg went to her full sister, Redwood Ivy, instead.

Hopefully we can convince Iris to walk a little better in the next ring she sets her hooves in. We love this balanced little doeling, and are excited to see and her sister freshen.
